Wedding Invitations

Anyone that you will be inviting to the wedding and reception should receive a wedding invitation. Wedding invitations can be sent to one household with multiple guests to be invited, but anyone over the age of 16 should receive a separate wedding invitation.

Wedding Invitation Addressing

The outer envelope should contain the FULL formal names of the main invited guests such as Mr. and Mrs. Michael Smith. The phrase "And Family" should be omitted from the outer envelope.

The inside envelope should contain the FIRST names of all invited guests from that household. Such as Michael and Sara, Linda, John, and Paul. The additional names would be the names of the children, if invited.

If you do not wish to invite children, DO NOT write their names on the wedding invitation inner envelope. You may also state Adult Reception on the wedding invitation. Please DO Not write NO CHILDREN allowed on the inner envelope. It is not appropriate.

It is proper to add the words "And Guest" to the inner envelope of an wedding invitation for single invited guests.

Wedding Invitations Tips

Wedding invitations should be mailed at least four to six weeks before the reply date on the reply card.

Make a list of your guests that you want to send wedding invitations to.

Check mark on the list each name as you write the envelopes.

Check mark each name again as you receive the replay cards.
